Visualware's products are Java based, and
require a Java VM (Virtual Machine). Refer
to the requirements above for the minimum JVM
required for your platform. It is strongly
recommended that you keep your Java VM up to
date by installing the latest version available
for your platform. Subtle bugs are constantly
being fixed, and new versions often have speed
improvements over previous Java VM's.
Sun Java VM: Download and install the
latest J2SE (Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition)
JRE (Java Runtime Environment) for your platform, http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
To check if you already have Sun's JVM installed,
or to find the version number:
- Open a DOS prompt and type java -version [enter].
If Sun's JVM is present it will give you
a version number, or
- Go to http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.jsp
Microsoft Java VM: You can upgrade
(new install not possible) your Microsoft
Java VM by visiting http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (or
Start / Windows Update). Press the "Scan
for Updates" button and then install the "Security
Update: Microsoft Virtual Machine (Microsoft
VM)" critical update.
Linux Java VMs: Any of the VMs listed
below may be used. Other versions or vendors
are not supported at this time.
